Lake Natron Tour Tanzania

LAKE NATRON
The area around Lake Natron is often described as having a desolate and almost lunar beauty. Lake Natron is a soda lake at the base of the active Ol Donyo Lengai volcano in the northern part of Tanzania close to the Kenyan border. In Maasai language the 2768m high mountain means ‘the home of God’, the mountain is sacred to the Maasai.
Walks off the beaten track
Walks around the lake and to the streams and waterfalls along the nearby escarpment make it a fantastic adventure off the beaten track.
Lake Natron is a Depression Lake
The cliffs/walls which are part of the East African Great rift valley have caused the waters coming from the underground rocks of the valley to pass over the cliffs and forming the nice water falls which are deposited in the Lake Natron. As a result this lake has permanent water. The visitors can view these waterfalls and take shower . The lake is an attraction of flamingoes which live there.
