Pangani is a small village on a beautiful stretch of Indian Ocean coast with coral reefs and islands offshore, where white sand beaches await you. There are also historical sites and interesting local traditions to be experienced on cultural walks.

From Pangani you can take fishing and snorkeling trips to the reefs and the two islands of Mawe Mdogo and Mwamba Mawe. Swimming with dolphins is also offered.
A place of history
As a Muslim town Pangani is not entirely a place of bars and nightclubs. Historical sites are a reminder of the strong Arabic and German-British colonial period in East Africa and well worth visiting.
Getting there
The town is located some 50 km south of Tanga which is a two hour drive by bus.
