Arusha is the site for the UN Criminal Tribunal on the Rwandan genocide and hosts the headquarters for the Tripartite commission for East African Cooperation. The city is a major centre of Tanzanian diplomacy and international relations. Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) lies 40km from Arusha and services from and to the airport run regularly.
