Kenya Wild Safari provides some guideline and essential equipment to carry when going for a safari tour, and it is believed that is these guidelines are followed, then one can be sure of having an enjoyable tour in the wild safari. Some of the essentials are;
§ Carry a sweatshirt of a wind heater for cold days.
§ Do away with drinking in deserted areas or at night.
§ For an overnight trip, carry light luggage, preferably a duffel bag soft suitcase and back pack.
§ Light clothing, like khakhis are preferred and they should be in earth colours. However, you can be protected from harsh sun in summer, by the long sleeved shirts and trousers.
§ While on safari, white is not a preferred colour because with it, animals can easily see you.
§ Don’t carry valuables. Keep track of your expensive cameras and binoculars.
§ It is best if you carry comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots for a safari trip.
§ Before you set out on every safari trip, carry essential medication, water and food.
§ Do not make sudden movements, do not shout or try to attract the attention of the animals while watching them.
§ While interacting with strangers, make sure that you follow basic safety precautions, because you even need to be aware that AIDS is widely prevalent in Africa.
§ You need to carry a torch, extra batteries, pocketknife, sunglasses, lip salve, binoculars and sunscreen.
§ Avoid drinking water from unsafe sources as well as swimming in stagnant water sources.
