The concentration of game is at its highest from July through October when the Mara is host to the annual migration of more than a million wildebeest. However, game viewing is excellent year round with giraffe, buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest and Thompson’s gazelle offering a rich choice for the predators lion, leopard and cheetah. It should be noted, however, that during the rainy season, the grass is fairly tall in some areas, which may affect visibility and restrict game drives slightly.

Notes:

- Lake Rutundu Log Cabins: The Lake Rutundu Log Cabins are situated in a remarkable setting on Mount Kenya. This is an unusual opportunity of fly fishing for rainbow trout at a height of 10,000 ft. The cabins are built in the original style of log cabins with moss filling the gaps between the logs and bitumen on the roof. Sheepskin rugs and open fires ensure a cosy warm atmosphere at night. Two cabins sleep four people comfortably but there is room for more. Hot water is heated in kuni (wood) boosters using old heather roots for fuel.

- Fishing: The main attraction of Lake Rutundu is the fact that is privately stocked with rainbow trout. The staff at the Cabins are also trained gillies and using barbless hooks and a rowing boat, many hours can be spent trying your luck in perfect tranquil conditions. No previous fishing experience is necessary and in fact many visitors come purely to enjoy the unique mountain scenery. Extraordinary walks and additional fishing on the stunning Lake Alice at 12,200 feet make this trip a worthwhile and memorable experience.

- Lake Baringo: In Kenya’s Great Rift Valley is a freshwater lake approximately 22 km long, by 11 kms wide, with an area of 168 sq kms. It is situated at an altitude of 1100 meters but is surrounded by mountains rising to almost 300 meters above the ambient ground level in places. At the northern end of the Lake lies the dormant volcano, Karosi, 1449 meters high.

The water of Lake Baringo is fresh unlike those other Great Rift Valley lakes of Bogoria, Elementeita, Nakuru and Magadi which are “soda lakes.” Although it is not known where the water flows out of Lake Baringo, it is reasoned that it must do so as otherwise the water would be subject to a continual process of evaporation, and the Lake would become soda. It may well do so from a submerged crevasse at its northern end, emerging 100 ks north at Karpedda.

As a freshwater Lake it is home to hippos, crocodiles and an abundance of fish and birds, but it does not have flamingos, as these feed on the algae specific to soda lakes. Despite this, it is most famous as an ornithologist’s paradise, with 500 bird species, many of which are extremely rare or otherwise only seen in this area.

The climate is warm (25 to 35 degrees) all year round, day and night. While a welcome breeze blows off the Lake in the evenings, the sensation of coldness is practically unknown here. The annual average rainfall is 640 mm, a large proportion of which falls in May-July and a lesser amount in November-December. The people in the vicinity of the Lake are the Tugen and the Il Chamus (or Njempse) with the Pokot living slightly further north, and visiting the area to graze cattle or trade. A few Turkana have migrated to the area. There is very little cultivation owing to the long hot dry season, followed by the habitually violent rains in May, and most inhabitants survive on the grazing of goats, sheep and cattle supplemented by fishing Catfish and Tilapia and harvesting of wild fruits and berries.

- Fishing Lodge – Aberdare National Park: Located on Aberdare National Park. The lodge has 2 Houses; each with 3 Bedrooms. Two rooms have one double and one single bed, third room has one single bed (7 Pax. per house); Two ensuite bathroom per house. The opportunity to see picturesque native tribesmen whose culture is dramatically different from ours in remote areas unspoiled by frequent tourist visits is fascinating. The Laikipia rides around the snow capped peak of Mt. Kenya traverses several large ranches (up to 100,000 acres) which were carved out of the wilderness a century ago by white settlers. There are many similarities to the cattle ranches of the Rocky Mountain West. WEDDING AND HONEYMOON IN KENYA

Civil wedding ceremonies are being particularly popular at the coast, but can also be arranged elsewhere. Themed weddings, such as traditional Samburu or Maasai weddings, can be arranged as well, but in these cases tour operators generally recommend a civil marriage before you come.

It is highly recommended to make your wedding arrangements with and through a tour operator, to get everything the way you would like it to be.

This is where we come in. We will arrange everything from the license, flower arrangements and bouquets, cakes, hairpieces and massage/health and beauty treatments for everyone from the wedding party to the choir. Our special occasions can be used to make the ceremony even more special.

Once the wedding is over and done with, let us organize the most romantic honeymoon. Another wonderful and very good point of getting married in Kenya is that you are already at the right place to start your honeymoon.

Kenya Adventure Safaris, Adventure Holiday in Kenya , Custom Kenya Safari

Adventure safari.
For long, Kenya has been known as a supreme bliss for an adventure. This is a land of continuous chances for the traveller who is active, a nation rich with possibilities for adventure and exploration.

For the mover, Kenya is a land of both highs and lows- right from the snow capped peak of Kenya mountain to the desert plains of the north. There are a series of treks from sedate hill walks across game rich ranges to routes of high heights above sea level on alpine slopes.

For those aiming higher, Kenya provides a lot of challenges. Mountaineers might be aware of the great summit of Kenya mountain, however, there are several other climbing regions to be discovered. There is a wide range of destinations, from granite cliffs and volcanic rock towers to the ultimate challenge-a technical attack on Africa’s second highest peak.

Kenya has some wonderful potential regions for off road mountain biking. As the sport’s popularity increases, more and more mountain bikes are now for hire, and there is a big part of the country for bush biking, which is not yet explored.

Kenya is a habitat, a community that is very skilled on horse-riding, and horses are a great way to move into wilderness regions. Riding through groups of game is a perfect way to experience the wild up close and personal.

If you are looking out for a more rare type of transport, the North of Kenya has
a flourishing camel culture, and the camel is used by several nomadic tribes.

The deserts and wide arid plain lands have for long been traversed by camel trains, following ancient paths through deep valleys and along winding dry riverbeds.
Big groups of light, fleet camels (single humped), are found all over the north. An expedition by camel is a unique way to view this country. The trackless deserts and high ranges of the northern frontier are wonderful and remote areas, totally isolated from the modern world. Walking passed this wilderness with a camel train, camping in the wild and sleeping under the stars, you can move through an Africa that is not changed from the time the first explorers passed.

The Indian Ocean waters are an adventurers playground far from the northern deserts The coast of Kenya has a well-deserved reputation for big game fishing and has drawn those devoted to fishing, for example Ernest Hemingway, attracted by the promise of world class fishing. Local tag and release programs secure eco-friendly fishing.

These waters have all along been a traditional passage for sailors and today, dhow continue to use the quiet waters of the coastline. The coast is a perfect place to explore by boat, and the beaches are good for all types of water sports.

The inland lakes and rivers of Kenya also provide a lot of chances fro world class fishing, from Trout to the great Nile perch.

White water rafting and Kayaking are somehow new sports in Kenya. But with extensive and spectacular river systems, grade white water and wide fresh water lakes, the dances are not limited.

Come to Kenya and start your own great adventure story.

A Kenya adventure safari draws you to an exciting land of wildlife adventure, water sports adventure, tribal tours and mountain climbing.

Let Kenya take you into its mystic depth and make you comfortable and develop interests in the adventure. Set out on an adventure moving tour deep into the dense Arabuko Sokoke forest; find winding adventure marks left behind in Sudi Island and tour the attractive and pleasing ruins of Gedi on your Kenya adventure safari with Kenya wildlife.

The Bicken snake farm in Watamu provides you with a spine curding adventure as you sight colourfully patterned Kenya snakes, which are long and short, thick and thin, the perfect adventure safari that offers you a chance of observing the rich reptile population of Kenya, Africa.

Ride a horse very fast along the sandy beaches and feel the cool Kenya air as you see the wondrous natural beautiful views that sail past you, enjoy boating trips and glass bottom boat rides, view the delightfully vibrant underwater world, go scuba diving and set out on the most exciting snorkeling trip of your life on your Kenya adventure safari with Kenya safari.
