At the end of Africa’s largest hill slope, mount Kilimanjaro, is where Ol kanjau camp is located.
Kilimanjaro’s icy rim is just 30 kilometres South in Tanzania. Ol kanjau is situated next to Amboseli national park and is amidst a larger area of true African bush land wilderness of the Kijongo Maasai pastoralists. Ol kanjau is a traditional safari style tented camp, left in a simple way possible such that one can still “enjoy the quiet nature, good atmosphere and try to count a million stars”.

Mike and Judy Roling who are the hosts, will welcome you to the camp, since 1968, they have worked as ecologists in Kenya, and their performance is larger-scale ecosystem research to find out how Amboseli wildlife relates with Maasai people and their livestock is still good.

§ There are six spacious and luxurious tents in Ol kanjau camp, a traditional safari mobile-tented camp. There are also large beds on which one can feel physically relaxed, safari style bathroom, with bucket showers, hot water is always there both during the day and in the evening.
