SAFARI LODGING
CAMPING:
Because in the early 80’s, some of the campers were attacked by lions, camping in the park is limited. Possibly, the attacking animals were many semi-tame lions used for a film. The Ark:
It was opened in 1970 and it belongs to Lonrho Hotels. The Ark basically follows the same regime as Treetops, refusal of children below 7 inclusive. Fishing Lodge:
It is found on the high moorlands above Magura river. The fishing lodge is under Kenya wildlife service.

Previously, tours to Aberdare national park were arranged either in organized groups accompanied by the one who takes care of the park, or selecting the Kenya Safari tour earlier on by informing the Warden of the park, Aberdare National Park, P.O. Box 22, Nyeri.
Private access is given these days, but only 4WD vehicles are allowed inside the park.

The wildlife of Aberdare is very impressive though the vegetation cover which is thick, makes it hard to view animals apart from when you are in the lodges.

Tusk camp:
Tusk camp is a self-service lodge found at the Eastern slopes of Aberdares, at 2,300m above sea level, in a clearing a midst the forest.

Aberdare national park is found in the range of the same name, given by Joseph Thomson in 1883 while on his journey through the land of the Maasai.
